Pumpkin Carving/Decorating (pumpkin + all supplies included)

Sensory Play! Pumpkin Races! Leaf Pile Jumping! Music!

An all inclusive, nature-based opportunity to engage in fun fall games & increase connection and memories with your family.

This therapeutic approach to pumpkin carving, led by a pediatric occupational therapist, is intended to support sensorimotor exploration, direction following, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sorting skills & CONNECTION. The activities will be broken into easy to follow steps, with guided support and assistance provided as needed. Feel free to allow your family to engage in whatever amount of the activty(ies) that feel right. 

Not only will you have the opportunity to carve or decorate your family's pumpkin, but also opportunities to explore a variety of tactile input (i.e. dry seeds, wet seeds, leaves, pumpkins, etc.), engage in sensorimotor play to support regulation skills, and enjoy the benefits of time spent outside. 

If your child needs any adaptations or additional supports added to the activity or environment, it is my goal to provide those so your little one and your family can enjoy this experience to its fullest.

Location: green area of Northcrest Park, Bloomington MN, near tennis courts off W. 82nd St. & Beard Rd.
